FRUIT QUALITY CHARACTERIZATION AND DETERMINATION

Objectives: Fruit quality characterization and determination

 

These objectives will be attained by the following Tasks:

Task 3.1. Fruit Organolepsis and nutritional quality (Linked to WP1 and 2).

Sub-Task 3.1.1. External berry fruit quality.

Sub-Task 3.1.2. Internal fruit quality - complex chemistries, (micro)nutritients and nutraceuticals

Sub-Task 3.1.3. Harmonised EU and National Sensorial fruit quality.

•        Task 3.2. Pre and Post-harvest treatments for the maintenance of fruit quality

Sub-Task 3.2.1.  Pre-harvest treatments - Large scale low input application of resistance inducers.

Sub-Task 3.2.2. Post harvest strategies for the maintenance of fruit quality

•        Task 3.3. Validating fresh berry value for consumer health

Sub-Task 3.3.1 Impact of digestion of fruit polyphenols.

Sub-Task 3.3.2 Bioavailability and metabolism studies.

Sub-Task 3.3.3 Plant polyphenol bioactivities.
